Our Story
The story of Top Tier Caging technically started back in 2013, when Josh and Matt just happened to both be on a reptile related tour in Australia. After nearly 2 weeks of herping water pythons, snorkeling with fly river turtles, feeding monster salties at Crocosaurus Cove, and even spending a once-in-a-lifetime day with Bob Irwin together, a friendship began.
Close to five years later Josh was searching for caging solutions and like most people in the reptile hobby was running into two big problems:
Caging that was readily available was very poor quality, looked bad, almost all of them out of square, wouldn’t open or close properly, etc.
Quality, reputable caging companies had extraordinary lead times or lackluster customer service.
One roadblock after the next, Josh was to look into building his own enclosures. Matt (who had recently started building cages for his personal collection) was the first phone call.
In 2019, we began designing our first round of caging. We carefully sourced all components to our cages to be able to provide consistent quality products. In 2021, we now have a full line of terrestrial and arboreal cages as well as several different size racks and displays.
We believe our quality and design stand up to any other cage on the market and combined with our almost unheard of quick lead times.
